| Rand Paragary has open
another restaurant in Sacramento, it is
the Esquire Grill located in Downtown
Sacramento at the corner of 13th
and K Street. It is located across
the street from the Convention Center and
the Hyatt Regency, next door to the Imax
theater. It is a special place and
has taken off in a big way. A
simple classification would be a
"Big City Grill", Sacramento
hasn't had a restaurant with this type of
feeling in many year's. The
interior is beautifull decorated with
wood and marble. Plenty of
comfortable booths and a great view of
the chiefs working the grill. I
have been their thre times since it has
opened about a month ago. Twice for lunch
and once for dinner. On our trip
for dinner their were four of us. I
started off with a bowl of clam chowder,
which was Boston Style and it was
excellant. The others in the party had
salads which they enjoyed. For the
main course my wife had broiled Aahi and
she said it was excellent. Don had Cajun
flavored pasta dish which was good but
could have been hotter. The hot
part is relative because Don likes things
really really hot. Two of us had
the spit roasted 1/2 chicken, which was
superb, even the breast was nice and
juicy. In fact the other two said they
would have the chicken next time,
too. We topped the meal off with
dessert, one chocolate cake, one apple
tart, that was enough to share. The
wine selection is large, with plenty of
great California selections and the
coffee was much better than the normal
restaurant blends. If you are in
town and staying at the Hyatt, just walk
around the corner, if you are coming from
anywhere else use the valet
parking. Grade wise the food
service and ambiance deserve the highest
rating A+. Oh, and if you can't get
in Randy Paragary has four other
restaurants a scant 15 blocks away.
Enjoy downtown Sacramento. |
