| Here's another Santa Cruz
hangout that's worth the wait.
Aldo's Restaurant is at the Santa Cruz
Yacht Harbor and it is open for Breakfast
and Lunch. No Reservations. It's an
outdoor restaurant with a few inside
tables for the timid. We have been
their for both breakfast and lunch.
Luncheon faire runs the gamit from a
sausage sandwich, to breaded fresh fish
on foccica bread to fresh pasta.
The prices are moderate, you can get out
of their with a meal and tip for $10.00
per person for lunch. When we hit
town we always head for Aldo's for lunch.
My usual meal is a cup of Clam Chowder
and a Fish Sandwich...excellent. Sue
usually has the crab sandwich which is
her favorite. Sometimes the wait
can be 30 to 45 minutes, but you can
watch the boats in the harbor or the kids
fishing. On my last visit, I went for
breakfast and there were four of us in
the party including a baby. The
service was great, my traditional
breakfast of eggs, sausage and potatoes
hit the spot. My son had eggs
benedict which he said were fine, but
almost too filling, while my
daughter-in-law had breakfast potatoes
which she enjoyed. I would rate
this Santa Cruz restaurant an A. It
is kind of a funky cool, but that's Santa
Cruz. It's definately laid back,
and the dress is casual. If your
out walking you dog that's fine the dog
is welcome, too. |
