I am pleased to tell all the Stagnaro Bros Seafood Restaurant is still doing great on the Santa Cruz Municpal Pier.  For the past 20 plus years we have been visiting this great seafood spot at least once a year.  While other places on the wharf have changed hands and or changed the food, Stagnaro Bros has maintained excellant quality in both food and service.  They are open for breakfast lunch and dinner. No reservations. There is usually a wait, but it is minimal.  On our last visit we showed up with 11 people and the wait was less than 30 minutes.  Our waiter had a great sense of humor and got us served very quickly.  Our party had everything from Clam Chowder and Shrimp Louies to Fried Calamari, Steamed Clams and fresh Salmon.  This time I had a bowl of Manhattan Chowder (they offer both red and white) and a Small Shrimp Louie.  It was great, not too filling, so I still had room for desert on the Boardwalk later.  I would rate Stagnaro Bros an A+ and would invite all to try it.  But please don't think you are going to get a modern, trendy, architecturally cool looking place.  It is pure Santa Cruz cool, basically unchanged for over 50 years, with a spectacular view of Santa Cruz Bay, the surfers and the Boardwalk. Old fashioned booths, tables and chairs make you feel at home.  The bar is good too.  Stagnaro Bros., , .  Submited by Wally Clark, wgc@cwo.com
