| Dry aged New York strip
steak was their signature dish. The
Cowboy steak was a boned-in ribeye, my
favorite cut. The only reasonable thing
to do was to order one of each between my
wife and I so that we could share! The cocktails were
not as genereous as the norm for this
town. The dry martini barely reached 2/3
of the way up. When the two olives were
removed it was half a glass.
Our host
ordered several appetizers and the
Portabello mushrooms were good. The
spinach salad was fine.
The ribeye
was indeed very large at 24 ounce. It had
truly excellent texture and taste. The
steak was broiled to perfection. The New
York was also huge but appeared overdone
for medium-rare. A cut down the center
showed that it was okay but comparing to
the ribeye it was dry. Unfortunately the
steak did not have the taste of aged
beef. It was frankly too lean to possibly
develope any flavor.
The
service was quite good for our party of
over 20 guests. The staff was efficient
and cordial.
