| Piero's provided a
significantly different dining experience
from the two hotel - casino - steakhouses
from the previous two evenings. Piero's
was considerably more intimate, relaxed
and seasoned. The dry martini was served
from the shaker at the table and it was
wonderfully cold and refreshing. The
drink was shared by several of our dining
companions as the shaker contained three
full servings! Consuming it all by myself
would have certainly put me under the
table.
While we
did not have appetizers this evening
those that ate at Piero's previously
claimed that the stone crab claws and
Cajon shrimp were to die for.
The Caesar
salad, their award winning specialty Osso
Buco and my wife's rigatoni in meat sauce
were all very good. The veal shank was
perhaps simpler than I expected but our
Italian friend had his thumb up for this
dish. The linguini that came on the plate
was superb.
The 1998
Domaine Serene Oregon Pinot Noir went
very well with the food. This wine gave
me a different perspective on Pinot as it
was quite full and bold as in a cab yet
it was very gentle and smooth at the same
time.
The house
specialty tiramisu, just as the service
provided by the staff were both heavenly.
