| Ernesto's...Bend? They
can't be associated with the infamous
Ernesto's in Beaverton, can they?
I'm afraid so...but the association isn't
entirely unfortunate. The staff is
courteous and very friendly.
The food,
unfortunately, is a bit heavy and not
terribly flavorful. My plate of
penne pasta with garlic, olive oil and
mushrooms was about as bland as any I've
ever had. My wife's veal picatta,
wasn't bad, but a bit heavy and breaded.
The bread
is OK, but quite heavy, resembling
slightly raised pizza dough.
On the
positive side, the Caesar salad was as
good as I've had recently. No huge,
long pieces of romaine lettuce to cut
with a knife...no horrible, white gloppy
stuff that is supposed to resemble Caesar
dressing...pretty darn good.
