| These two restaurants
represent a very tough call. The food is excellent
at both locations. The ambiance is wonderful with a
live pianist playing classical music in Lake Oswego and
the Milwaukie location being essentially in a
"castle on the river"...very romantic and
European. So
what's not to like? The prices!
Perhaps because Amadeus
and Amadeus at the Fernwood are listed in the Portland
area's "Entertainment '99" books, they have to
unreasonably inflate their prices to take up the slack
for the essentially "free" meal offered under
the "Entertainment '99" guidelines.
It would be very hard for
a party of two to escape without paying close to $75 for
two entreés and tip...no drinks, no wine, no appetizers,
no nothing. $75 for two including tip. And,
even using the "Entertainment '99" book, with
an "up to $21 value" subtracted from an
over-inflated meal, it's still no bargain.
Hey, the food is
excellent; the ambiance is lovely...why not pull the
prices back into line so folks can eat there without
breaking their budget?
