Bugatti's Ristorante

Bugatti's is an excellent restaurant, but it's a travesty that it is listed on this year's Gourmet Magazine Restaurant Guide as #14 in the Portland area and others more deserving are not.

Assaggio at #19 and Riccardo's which is not listed are both superior.

The pasta is excellent (but a portions are a bit skimpy), as is the bread and olive oil with garlic. The Minestrone soup is very good, but with a bit too much overpowering tomato.

The house Chianti is as good as or better than any I've had by the glass in any restaurant in Portland.

But the oil stain on the butcher paper table cloth when we sat down was a bit unpleasant.
