| I've not eaten at any of the
other five Chevys in the Portland area,
but this one is certainly a cut above the
mediocre Mexican chain restaurants in the
area. The chips are crispy, not
too salty, not dripping with
grease. The salsa is outstandingly
medicore...the normal is too bland; the
hot, too laced with smoke flavor.
Food is
generally quite good. No heaping
globs of "refried beans";
rather some nice pintos and rice.
The chicken fajitas are excellent and at
$6.95 a good value.
On a scale
of 1-10, most of the other Mexican
restaurants in the area rate a smashing
3-5. Chevys gets a solid 6, maybe
6+.
