| I've eaten the buffet at
this restaurant several times and it's
always tasty, if not particularly
inspired. This is, after all, a good
Indian restaurant in the middle of
downtown Salem with its nearest rival
35-40 miles away in Portland or
Beaverton.
Nothing on
the buffet is too spicy, but selection is
essentially limited to 8 items including
Naan bread and the ever-popular tandoori
chicken. Sometimes there is a
"spinachy" dish, a lentil dish,
a chicken and potato dish...and others
which I can neither spell nor
pronounce...but for $5.95 it's a good
deal.
If you
just wanted to try the innocuous tandoori
chicken and Naan bread, there's plenty of
"American style" salad and
fruit to make the meal worth $5.95...a
price which includes a bottomless glass
of the soft drink of your choice.
Food: B.
Ambiance: A-C...the Indian music can get
a little weird. Attitude: A...nice folks.
Parking: Can be a serious problem due to
the nature of downtown Salem. Service:
Self-serve. Value: A+.
