| This was my first visit to
the Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel,
OR. I have friends in Germany
and I really wanted to see if this would
give me a taste of Germany. My
goodness the food certainly does, there
is allot of it. Its very good and some
very different. Like fried
mushrooms and stands with baked
potatoes. Onion ring stands, stands
just for strawberry shortcake and Ice
cream bars dipped fresh and rolled in
nuts. Sausage and sourcrout
stands and corn on the cob on a
stick. Along with even cotton candy
for sale. Elephant ears to eat,and
other pastries. I was amazed at all the food
available. We did not leave
hungry. So many people were
there. Even with all the people the
lines at the food stands moved fairly
quickly. The music in the beer
gardens was fun to listen to. We didn't
visit the gardens but the music was quite
loud to we didn't have to. It was
deffinently a feeling of another
country. We went to the church in
town and it is beautiful. Go see
it, its not like the modern churches
around here. Its like the beautiful
churches in Europe. We looked at
the craft stands and we even looked at
the old car show that was there.
Very fun to look around. Again I
say there was allot of people so if
crowds don't bother you go for it.
You know though crowds bother me and I
enjoyed going.
