Absolutely EXCELLENT onion
soup! Some of the best I've had in
years...dark, heavy with beef stock, good
parmesan cheese and croutes.
In general, a FAR better than average
restaurant...especially considering their
central Oregon coast location in
Newport.
My wife had "Parmesan Cod" and
felt it was excellent...but by serving it
on top of their French fries, the fries
became quite soggy.
My Caesar Salad...??? Well...not
the best, but at least it didn't have
gobs of "white gloppy stuff"
for dressing....perhaps theirs has a bit
too little "bite" in the form
of lack of anchovies and Worcestershire
sauce. Maybe a 4 on a scale of
1-10.
The restaurant is in a bookstore...or
perhaps the bookstore is in the
restaurant. Whatever the case, it
provides a pleasant diversion either
before or after dining.

Ambiance: Hmmmmm...lots of mediocre
paintings of a black and white cat by
"CHILL". Upon asking, the
painter, Chuck Hill, apparently paints
these and donates the funds to the Humane
Society...in memory of his 13 year old
deceased cat.
Parking: on the street or in a lot
behind the restaurant.
