MUCH better than you might
expect!
Envision the setting: Right on the
beach, nice view...but right next to the
Chinook Winds Casino. This begins
to conjure up thoughts of mediocrity, but
the restaurant at the Shilo Inn comes
through with flying colors!
No...it's not a Michelin 3 star, but
considering the location it's MUCH better
than I expected...especially the Caesar
salad. Amazing...positively
amazing! If ever a restaurant was
expected to serve the "white gloppy
stuff" in place of a REAL Caesar
salad dressing, this would be the
place. But...not so fast:
This place serves a VERY good Caesar...at
least a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. No
white gloppy stuff in
evidence...excellent BEIGE dressing...but
not too much. Unfortunately, it was
made with anchovy paste, not real
anchovies...but it was good!
My dining companion had the evening's
special mushroom soup...it too was
excellent!
I had a bowl of clam chowder...very good,
if not excellent.
This "Continental" restaurant
gets good ratings from this critic!
