Esparza's Tex-Mex Café, Portland, OR P174

In the not too distant past, The Oregonian listed Esparza's as its "Restaurant of the Year".  This year's Gourmet magazine "Restaurant Issue" lists it as:  "Tops for fun" "Upscale Mexican, festive atmosphere."  "tequila list rivals some wine lists."

I guess I just don't "get it".  The food is good, a bit upscale, in fact, but nothing to write home about.  The variations on the typical tacos, enchiladas, etc. are good as well.

I don't know...I guess a lunch or dinner replete with several Margaritas, each featuring a different tequila just isn't my thing.
