| Situated in Kennedy School
(grammar) which was built in 1915, dwells
yet another McMenamins
pub/theater/restaurant/motel, one of 40+
such establishments, more or less of the
same genre. This one is kinda
neat...really...can you imagine spending
a night in a quasi-"Bed &
Breakfast" which was formerly a
grade school? Waking up in the
middle of the night and being surrounded
by a black board?
The
theater is just down the hall about a
hundred feet or so...all pretty
interesting stuff.
The food,
however, wasn't particularly to my
liking. I ate there on St.
Patrick's Day and the place was
hopping...service was EXCELLENT and very
friendly...but the food left a lot to be
desired.
My Caesar
salad was one of the worst I've ever had,
with "white runny stuff"
instead of the normal "white gloppy
stuff" for dressing...it had
virtually no flavor.
The French
fries were quite greasy and not at all
tasty.
The glass
of hard cider was $4.25 for about 4
ounces...WAY TOO MUCH!!!!
But, the
smoked salmon chowder was excellent and
my dining companions proclaimed their
various hamburgers/cheese burgers/Ahi
burgers to be excellent.
An
interesting dining experience...should
have tried the corned beef and cabbage, I
guess.
