| This excellent Italian
restaurant, set in a Raleigh Hills strip mall, has
quickly become one of my favorites. The Caesar Salad is good as are all
the various pasta dishes I've tried. Soups are
excellent. The dinner menu has daily specials, one
of which I particularly like: a small round of
cheese cooked in olive oil and garlic cloves.
Pizza can tend to be a
very personal thing, but I prefer Neapolitan
pizza...after all it was invented in Naples and one would
think those folks might have something to contribute to
the genre. La Prima serves some excellent
Neapolitan-style pizza...very light crust, typically
Italian healthy toppings and all cooked in a wood-fired
oven.
Finding a table during the
week-end dinner hours can be hard...La Prima is popular
and a waiting list is normal from 7-8 pm Friday and
Saturday. But if you arrive between 5 & 6 you
shouldn't have any seating problems.
Service is good, but can
become slow as the dining room fills...attitudes could be
improved from time to time.
