| Portland is, for some
unknown reason, in love with Papa
Hayden's. Sorry, I'm not. I've never eaten in
such a loud restaurant...1 PM, Saturday
lunch and it was simply impossible to
hear the person across the table
speak...to say nothing of the
waiter.
The
food: Well, the desserts are fine
and some of the entrées are excellent as
well, but I didn't find much exciting
about either the onion soup nor the
"Caesar Salad"...more white
gloppy stuff...no flavor...tomatoes...how
nice! When a restaurant says
"Caesar Salad", I wonder what
it takes for them to actually produce
one?
The waiter
was a nice enough fellow, but it took
entirely too long to get served after
ordering...ditto the "iced tea"
without ice...and the onion soup
spoon. And the "Smirnoff
Ice" which never came...but after I
was nearly finished, he did manage to say
they didn't have it.
I asked if
I could have a Caesar Salad without the
chicken..."No Problem"...and
indeed, the Caesar Salad appeared without
chicken. The price, however, was
the same as WITH CHICKEN.
