| Piatti's is an excellent
Italian restaurant in a city with several excellent
Italian restaurants. They had an unfortunate
beginning, trying to coordinate decor with their
menu...all the while serving Sunday brunch in a style of
Southwestern Tex-Mex cooking. As you might imagine,
this led to a fairly quick closure, redecoration and
renewed focus. The results are pleasing, but no more so
than several other excellent Italian restaurants within
Portland's city limits, not the least of which is Pazzo,
across the street and up a block.
Piatti's is not the first
name that jumps to my mind when I want Italian food, but
it is excellent. I will make an effort to dine
there more often.
Food: A to A-. Service: A.
Attitude: A. Ambiance: A-. Parking: No problem if you use
the Bank of California parking lot. Value: A-.
