| Rivers occupies the space
formerly occupied by Avalon, which in and
of itself means practically
nothing...except for the great view of
the Willamette River and the somewhat
wild east bank across from the
restaurant...in virtually the middle of
Portland. Not a bad place for lunch,
the food was tasty and about what you
would expect to pay.
My dining
companion had a meatloaf (Why on earth
would anyone go to a restaurant and order
meatloaf?) which he thought was
excellent.
I opted
for the buffet...a GREAT selection of
"stuff"...good salsa and chips,
an excellent pork enchilada mix, pureed
salmon on half of an english muffin...and
some very tasty little boneless chicken
breasts...all for $8.95.
For some
reason, restaurants in this location have
had difficulty in getting the business
necessary to sustain themselves.
Hopefully, Rivers will succeed.

sure everyone wants to endure "Valet

there's very little in the area.
