South Park Seafood Grill & Wine Bar, Portland, OR P323

A Top Pick in the Area

Nice place, great food, lousy service.

I guess I should be fair and mention that it appeared that the water who took our order was also the bar tender...someone else brought our food...someone different brought some food late...someone else brought our check.  Don't know what the problem was, but I had to send back a bowl of the "Soup du Jour" because everyone was already finished eating and wanted to go.  Not one of these folks ever stopped by to ask if everything was OK...or I could have mentioned I was missing the soup.

Oh, well...

South Park is a good restaurant...as I understand things, they're related to the Heathman and the good breeding shows.  The menu is extensive, somewhat different and not too expensive.

The salads were excellent...as was the gaspacho...as was the bread.

It was apparent the menu was well thought out, featuring most anything a person would want...fish, pork, pasta, salads, soup, calamari, etc.

The open dining room which keeps the diner from actually being on the sidewalk was a nice touch as well.
