The dinner menu selection is
varied with a lot of different types of
food available. I really LOVE
Indian cuisine, however, this restaurant
was mediocre as far as taste. The
four items that were ordered in my party
had quite a bit of onions in them.
Not much else was used for
flavor. The mango lassi
was well made, and tasty. The
nan was good, but very blackened for
nan. The ambiance was that of a
typical thrown together restaurant.
There were a few Indian art pieces, but
the overall feel was loud and bright in
the main dining area. The service
was the best part of our visit, but even
that was not as good as it could have
been.

| I do not know enough about
the cuisine of India to comment with any
degree of authority on whether or not
Swagat provides "exceptional"
or "mediocre" Indian
food. However, in my visits to both
locations, I've always found the food to
my liking and at exceptional
prices. The buffet lunches at $5.95
contain a few more selections (all
excellent) than their competition in the
Portland area. From the ubiquitous
"Tandoori Chicken" (which I
can't imagine anyone not liking), the
offerings move to several different
dishes with varying degrees of spice
(both hot and flavor). It's an
excellent experience...If it looks like
you'll like it, you probably will.
Try it...you'll like it.
Food: A-.
Service: A-. Attitude: A. Ambiance: A-.
Parking: Can be a problem at either
location. Value: A+.
