| Yet another completely
ordinary Chinese restaurant in
Portland. Pretty good...not
bad...but nothing to write home
about. Sorta makes mediocrity a
household word. All the obligatory
stuff: Kung Pao Chicken...and
beef...and shrimp...and.....Chicken with
asparagus...Beef with asparagus....Shrimp
with asparagus...Chicken with
garlic...Beef with garlic...Shrimp with
garlic...
You get
the picture.
But on the
positive side, these folks are quite a
bit more friendly than most. That
alone sets them apart. And...it's
not in a strip mall. They occupy an
old "steak house" with dining
under a "greenhouse-like"
plastic roof...a nice touch.
Portland's
east side near 102nd avenue doesn't have
a lot of good restaurants. The
Taste of Szechuan at least breaks the
monotony with good, solid Chinese
food.
Food:
B+...but ordinary
Attitude: A...VERY friendly folks
Ambiance: B+...hey, it's NOT a
strip mall
Parking: A....good sized lot
outside
Service: B...a little slow the
night I was there
Value: B...about what you'd expect
for pricing
