Thai Noon Restaurant, Portland, OR P394

A Top Pick in the Area

The "Alberta Neighborhood" is trying to "come alive" and become another Pearl District...with art galleries, good restaurants, all the "upscale" stuff.  While the district has a way to go, some of the restaurants I've eaten at on Alberta Street are quite good...REALLY FUNKY, but good.

Thai Noon is no exception.  Not a spectacular neighborhood...nor a slick store front, but funky, laid back...New little hole in the wall restaurant with good food about sums it up.

I asked for a REALLY HOT dish with shrimp and they made a decent effort at getting it hot...but VERY tasty!....and the basil was there, but not overstated.

My dining companions had an excellent shrimp soup and "peanut butter" salad...both proclaimed their entrées very good.

Prices are about what you would expect and the service was VERY friendly.
