| Southeast Portland is not
especially well know for restaurants
which are on the cutting edge of haut
cuisine....ESPECIALLY around 82nd
avenue. Than Thao II, unfortunately,
is not on the cutting edge of haut
cuisine, but it's an excellent and VERY
CLEAN Vietnamese restaurant, very
efficiently run by friendly owners and
waiters.
Nothing
stands out as exceptional, but everything
I've eaten there has been excellent and a
good value as well.
The
standard "chicken with
Broccoli" and "Chicken in
Curry" is good...as is the beef dish
(I can neither pronounce it nor spell it)
which is served with a "Mongolian
barbecue" and vegetables to be
cooked at the table and wrapped in rice
paper...large portions (usually for two
people) and priced at $15.95...a good
value.
