| A couple of years ago, oBa!
was declared to be the #1 restaurant in
Portland by The Oregonian. I don't
necessarily agree, but it is absolutely
excellent! oBa! can best be
described as a "really upscale"
Mexican-style restaurant, very
"toney," a bit "frou
frou," but that can also be taken as
an insult to a really fine
restaurant.
The front
area is a very LOUD bar/watering hole for
the terminally hip. The restaurant,
THANKFULLY, is reasonably quiet and very
pleasant. Our waiter had an
excellent personality, was a bit
irreverent and very good.
Everything
we had was recognizable (salmon, chicken
tostado, black bean soup) but was
certainly among the best I've ever eaten.
All in
all, a thoroughly pleasant
experience.
