| The location, food and
ambiance were very good at the LaConner
Seafood & Prime Rib. They served Mac
& Jacks African Amber Ale so it must
be a good place! I ordered the Grandma Lou's
Oysters. The salad, made with Romaine
lettuce was very refreshing. The oyster
dish had about 8 to 10 yearling oysters.
It was grilled with bay shrimps, celery,
onions, mushrooms, then finished in a
cream sauce topped with shredded
Parmesan. It was delicious.
Other
dishes looked great. The clam chowder was
thick with chopped clams and perhaps
folded with whipped cream. It was thick
but light. The fish pieces in a fish and
chips were huge. It truly was a meal! The
seafood Louies were beautiful with very
fresh Dungeness crab meat, shrimp, smoked
salmon, and other garnish.
The
restaurant must have been unexpectedly
busy. The service was cordial but totally
inattentive. The check came before
dessert was offered. Coffee and water
refills had to be asked for. Avoid the
round table near the restrooms as
objectionable odors were detected. The
outside seating would have been great if
it was later in the year.
Dinner for
five with one ale and one dessert was
$100 before gratuity. Too bad! It could
have been a wonderful experience.
