Snug Harbor Resort, San Juan Island, WA P212

Mitchell Bay is located on the west side of San Juan Island. Snug Harbor Resort has several manufactured cabins, docks with morage, a store, kayak and boat rentals, whale watching and wildlife programs.

The unit we stayed in could hold six but it would have been difficult to move around inside. It has a covered wood deck, a bedroom with a double bed, a loft with a double bed, one room that served as a living room, kitchen and dining room. The kitchen has a refrigerator, a gas range with four burners and an oven, a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pot, pan and utensils. The couch was a hide-a-bed.

While the "cabin" was manufactured it was very charming. The bathroom was very small but functional.

The view towards the small bay was wonderful. We saw bald eagles, a turkey vulture, and a variety of sea birds. We had the use of a canoe or row boat as guests of Snug Harbor Resort.

The property has great potential. The people were very friendly and they appeared to be in the building mode as new decks were being constructed. Some small details required attention in the way of cleanliness and repairs. Otherwise, things could go to heck before the renovation program is completed.
