| Patit Creek Restaurant is
one of the highest regarded restaurant east of the
Cascades in the Pacific Northwest. It is a small place
seating only 30+ persons. It is located at the northern
edge of Dayton. The
people were very friendly. Everyone was having a good
time. The appetizer we shared was Danish cheese baked in
phyllo dough triangles served on probably the best
marinara anywhere.
There were wonderful wines
from some of the best Washington wineries as well as
California and imported. We picked a 91' Kenwood Cabernet
and it was wonderful right out of the bottle and got a
little better after a while.
I really messed up by
ordering the T-Bone steak that was one of the
"specials" for the evening. The sesame seed and
garlic butter on the steak tasted great. It was cooked to
perfection (medium rare). My disappointment was that the
steak was not trimmed well. I liked a little fat on my
steak but it was quite grizzled around one edge. And
because the steak was fresh it was crunchy.
My daughter's Chicken
Reisling was very good (she was kind enough to offer me a
taste). We will be back but I will definitely pass on the
steak.
