A Top Pick in the Area
 
The maitre 'd/owner who started this restaurant several years ago (I only knew him as Ken) is apparently gone now and the restaurant certainly suffers from his friendly style. 

Provinces is a excellent restaurant with a full menu...not as good certainly as the best restaurants in San Francisco, but superior to the ones in Portland. 

Everything I've had there is a cut above anything I've found in Portland...just a bit fresher, a bit crispier, a bit more flavorful. 

They also feature several specials from time to time which bear a close look.
