| Located in the street level
of the trendy Monaco Hotel, Sazerac
features upscale "cajun style"
southern cooking in a Seattle
Restaurant...not nearly as "out of
place" as you might think. Fried Okra...was
EXCELLENT! As were the mustard
greens with garlic. Salmon on a bed
of polenta was excellent as well...as
were the mussels done in a cajun style.
The
"Sazy" salad, was an attempt at
a Caesar, and was excellent. Yes,
it did have one obligatory anchovy.
THANKFULLY, it had real Caesar
dressing...not the white gloppy
stuff. Unfortunately, though it was
excellent, it was quite small and
featured the HUGE complete Romaine
lettuce leaves that must be cut three or
four times to get them down to bite
size.
My only
complaint was the orange sorbet...nothing
to it. Yeah...it tasted like orange
flavored ice, but it was not very
intense. Otherwise, Sazerac has an
excellent, diverse menu.
For an
upscale restaurant in downtown Seattle,
the prices aren't out of line.
