| At the Elliot bay end of
Pier 59...opposite end of the pier from
the Salmon Cooker...dwells the
Fisherman's Restaurant, a thoroughly
pedestrian "continental/NW
style" restaurant. Yeah, the fish is
OK, but nothing special, the prices are a
bit high and the service can be either
good or inattentive...depending on
what? I don't know for sure.
The Caesar
Salads have the white gloppy stuff that
is supposed to be Caesar dressing...why
bother? It's not a Caesar
salad...not even close...so why call it
one?
Seafood
Fetuccine isn't bad, but it's nothing to
write home about either...Shrimp Skewers
are OK...but not exciting.
Halibut...OK. Sirloin?
Well...it was flavorful, but it too was
pedestrian.
Essentially,
the Fisherman's is a tourist's
restaurant...in nice weather, eating
outside at the end of the pier can be
wonderful and the food isn't bad.
So, if you aren't looking for excellent
cuisine and are looking for an excellent
ambiance...go there. If, on the
other hand, you're after excellent
cuisine, you'd be better off with a
pass.
