| I'm always a bit
worried when any business bills itself as the
"ultimate" anything.
Zoopa's..."The Ultimate Salad Bar" is
just such a place. Is it, in fact, the
ULTIMATE salad bar...I doubt it...but it's pretty
darn good! How can a place like this put
out a decent Caesar salad, for instance, without
all that white, gloppy stuff other restaurants
use? Their Caesar salad doesn't rate a 10
on a scale of 1-10, but for not being made at the
table, it can rate as high as a 7 when it's
fresh. Zoopa's is not the place to go if
you want a lot of protein. Other than
pepperoni on the pizza or meat in the meat sauce,
you won't find any. But if you want a
salad, pasta, soup, baked potato and dessert,
it's pretty hard to go wrong. Dinners for
$7.99 are an excellent value...but don't
forget...that won't include much (if any)
protein.
The pastas are
excellent, with usually a choice of two types and
a choice of three sauces; a vegetable marinara,
some sort of tomato/meat sauce, and an artery
clogging "white, gloppy Alfredo".
Nothing
spectacular, but good value...and the salad bar
is huge if not "ultimate".
