| There's a lot to like
about the Rock City Grill and, unfortunately, quite a bit
not to like as well...like the white gloppy stuff that
passes for a Caesar salad dressing. Give me a
break! They only charge $5.95 for an excellent
plate of Romaine lettuce with good croutons and (your
choice) with or without anchovies. But the white
gloppy stuff just has to go... As does the "Focaccia bread", just
some heated up pizza dough with a little garlic does not
constitute Focaccia bread. You're supposed to sop
up olive oil and some hand grated parmesan with this
ersatz "Focaccia bread", but it just doesn't
seem right...it isn't bread; it's pizza dough!
On the positive side, the
"first class Focaccia Suprema" with broiled
elephant garlic and feta cheese is quite a bit
better...still the same pizza dough and it costs $5.95,
but it is excellent.
Pizzas are excellent,
tending to the thin, wood-fired Neapolitan style.
All in all, a pretty
enjoyable place, but hardly "Spokane's #1
restaurant" as the window sign proclaims upon
entry. If it is #1, the folks in Spokane are in a
heap of trouble.
