Tomato Street, Spokane, WA P231

Of my two favorite Italian restaurants in Spokane, one was closed by fire another by the owner retiring...so when I happened upon Tomato Street, I was hopeful.

Alas, it was not to be.

While the food is OK, it's nothing special.  A simple pasta dish of penne, garlic, olive oil and mushrooms had a VERY HEAVY taste and texture.  I don't know what it was, but it was far too heavy...ditto the garlic bread and "Caesar salad", replete with the white gloppy stuff which passes for Caesar dressing...well, I guess this was more correctly described as:  "beige gloppy stuff".

Tomato Street seemed very popular with families, as the place was packed and all the kids seemed to be having fun...but I just wanted a good Italian restaurant.

Food: C. Attitude: A. Ambiance: A+ if you're a kid;C- if you're an adult. Parking: A, Service:  A...all the waitstaff seemed quited helpful and cheerful. Value: A.
