| We were in this hotel last
summer (2000). It was remodeling the
lobby. More than a year later it appeared
to be still remodeling! Our room in the Tower was
fairly compact but it did not feel
cramped for two people. The view of the
Spokane River from the 8th floor was very
nice.
Several
quality control items down graded the
rating for this hotel. The bath soap was
missing. The shower head was much too
noisy and the tub drained slowly. The
room service menu/order sheet was used.
Some of the fixtures and picture frames
were in need of dusting.
The
quality of food at the Atrium Cafe was a
pleasant surprise. My Seafood Linguini
had clams, a couple of really nice
prawns, scallops, salmon and white fish
cooked in a tomato saffron broth topped
with freshly grated Parmesan. The glass
of Caterina (a Spokane winery) Chardonnay
went nicely with the linguini.
My wife
had the West Coast Grand at the Park
Chopped Salad. It had a load of Dungeness
crab meat, cucumbers, olives, bacon,
artichoke hearts, bleu cheese, eggs,
avacado, tomatos, and fresh field greens.
The salad was served with a mustard seed
vinegarette. The New England clam chowder
was excellent.
