| Bob's Keg & Cork is a
delightful little place located in the historic Front
Street district of Yakima. The building was built in 1885
and is the oldest commercial building still standing in
Yakima. It was home of YaKima's first city hall. Later it
was the town's first fire station. Then it became a
safe-house for traveling cattlemen. Bob Hargreaves serves up a quality
variety of ales, lagers, and wines. The current offerings
and specials on tap are listed on chalkboards. This is
the only place in Yakima that I can get a pint of Mac
& Jacks African Amber, my favorite brew.
A selection of eight
northwest wines are available by the glass from his
atmosphere controlled, wine tap box. Another two dozen
other wines by the bottle are also available.
Food options are hors
d'oeuvres, soup, salads, gourmet pizza, a sausage
sandwich, desserts and non-alcoholic beverages. We have
sampled the Keg & Cork Sausage sandwich and pizzas.
They are carefully prepared and highly recommended.
Bob has created a friendly
place for people that are after more quality than
quantity. He usually has a little jazz, blues or soft
rock playing which is fine for enjoying a quiet lunch or
chatting with friends.
