Jean's Cottage Inn, Union Gap, WA P18

Jean's Cottage Inn has been around when you can get a T-bone steak for less than two bucks! Menus from the old days are posted between the waiting area and the restrooms.

Today, you still can get a twelve ounce "Special" T-bone for $6.75. The larger cut is only $8.00. My other favorite choice is a pair of pork chops for $6.00. The blue chess dressing is thick with blue chess served on a very simple lettuce salad. Eat that salad fast because the entree is coming up quick and right off the grill! There will be plenty of hashbrowns or french fries with that steak. I would usually take a cup of black coffee with the meal to complete my visit to this icon of an old fashioned American cafe.

If you fancy some meat and potatoes and don't want to pay much, you can't do better for miles around! The service is friendly and is usually packed. Don't go there on the weekends or after 8:00 PM. They are closed.

One bad thing - be prepared to put up with cigarette smoke.
