| Noodles, in any shape or
form, are my favorite food. The Magic Noodle House is a
very small place. The menu is purposely small with 22
dishes. The owners of the former downtown landmark Jade
Tree Restaurant wanted it so. The choices are the soupy noodle bowls,
Teriaki bowls, Yakisoba bowls, side orders and three
salads. The bowl varieties are offered in chicken, pork,
shrimp and beef. The side orders are Potstickers,
Mongolian Beef, General (Zao) Chicken, Sweet & Sour
Ribs, and Shrimp on Skewers. Always pay attention to a
special that may be posted. In May, it is Asparagus
Chicken Rice Bowl.
The emphasis here is on
health since oil and salt are used only sparingly and no
MSG is added. Within each group the food tends to taste
the same. Sometimes, the Yakisoba is a little on the
sweet side for me. And some people may consider their
Yakisoba a little spicy. But if you let Connie or Greg
know, they will try to accomodate your taste. They
usually make my food a little extra spicy since I like it
so.
Most items are around $5
and you won't go away hungry. There is usually a crowd at
lunch time but they will try their best to fit you in!
Connie has the talents to
do great things with authentic Chinese cooking. She is
enthusiatic about food. It is a great little place to
become a regular. Most customers there are!
