| Thai Emerald Cuisine, Yakima, WA | P7 |
| This relatively new
restaurant is located in downtown Yakima across 3rd
Street from the Bon Marche at Yakima Mall. It was nearly
at capacity during the Friday lunch rush. As it is
usually true, if you found a busy place, you've found a
good place. Thai Emerald Cuisine is bright, clean and appeared newly decorated. There was a buffet ($7.00) with several favorite Thai items. One of the trays appeared to be chicken wings. We felt that finger foods and buffet don't mix so we opted to order from the menu. The iced tea was a disappointment since it tasted like instant tea. Our orders took quite a long time for lunch. My Ba-Mee Rahd Nah Guy, an egg noodle dish with chicken, bamboo shoot and vegetables was very good. The Pahd Thai had a lot of pork and even a few prawns! My daughter's curry dish with chicken on rice noodles was perfect (ordered mild) for her. All the ingredients were fresh. There were no hints of MSG nor over use of salt and oil. The portions were generous. The dishes were BIG but they were so good we cleaned the plates. All of our dishes were $6.95 each. I believe that we have found a healthy, tasty and dependable spot for lunch especially if we are hungry! |

| We are on our second
lunch experience with this restaurant. It was
considerably less busy on this Tuesday afternoon. The buffet looked inviting but we still opted to order off the menu. My wife came to have their Pahd Thai. However, this time she was asked by the cook what kind of meat she wanted. We were really puzzled since the menu clearly stated the ingredients included pork, shrimp, bean sprouts, etc. I ordered the Nuea Sub, rice noodles topped with beef curry in a wine sauce. It was to my liking but it was quite salty. At least, with my dish, contradicted my observations last week. Perhaps the saltiness was from the fish sauce used in cooking this dish. We had a chance to look at the dinner menu. It was huge with variety. We will have do dinner there soon. |
