| Whistlin' Jack Lodge is
one of those places that made you feel good being there.
It is located between Chinook Pass and the town of Naches
on Highway 410. The restaurant, lounge, motel, gift shop
and grocery store complex is between the highway and the
Naches River. The drive getting there whether you come
from the west or the east is wonderful especially if the
weather is nice. We
were fortunate in getting a corner window table on
Mother's Day morning for breakfast. Although they were
very busy the service was still excellent. The breakfast
took a while but we were not in any rush. Everyone had a
great time enjoying the companionship inside and the view
of the river, trees and the more distant rocky cliffs
outside. Even a hummingbird stopped by to rest on a
branch by our window.
My wife ordered the
special, ham & eggs, served with hashbrowns and a
huckleberry coffee cake. Grandma had the same except with
bacon, six nice lean strips cooked to a crispy
perfection. Our daughter had the Dungeness croissant, a
crabmeat omelette served between halves of a croissant. I
had the Wilderness Scramble, two eggs scrambled with
sweet Italian sausage, onions, mushrooms, served with
hashbrowns and toast. The breakfasts ranged from $8 to
$10.
The food was good and we
had a truly relaxing wonderful time.
