| Perhaps the best food I've
ever had in Belgium...and these folks do
eat WELL...was eaten at the Grillhuisje
in Brugge. I'm not sure there's a
street number, but the Grillhuisje is
just around the corner from the bridge to
the Beguinage. Winjngaardstraat is
the main street on which many first-time
tourists enter Brugge from the direction
of most of the tour busses, the train
station and down by Lake
Minnewater. It's also just a short
stone's throw from where the horses and
carriages start their tour.
The
Grillhuisje is on the left of the street,
heading into Brugge in the general
direction of the Market Place and the
Octagonal Tower.
Our party
of four sat down and was immediately
served a small plate of grilled ribs with
some sort of Belgian seasoning...they
were great!
Unfortunately,
we didn't fully understand the menu,
because we weren't very hungry and just
wanted to split a few items...nothing to
split...we all got a full meal. But
no big deal, dinner for 4 was just 1735
bef (about $35 at current exchange
rates).
The
grilled salmon was fantastic...as was the
halibut...as were the ribs...nothing to
complain about here.
