| If you are into
oriental groceries this store will
definitely excite you. The
variety, depth, quality and price were
all overwhelming! The pastries and breads
were made in their own bakery. We bought
several pieces of dessert pastry and ate
them back in the hotel. Yum!
The fish market was large
and had a huge selection. The experience
of the fish market was what I imagined
being in an oriental Pike Street Market.
The butcher shop was equally impressive.
I only wish that there was a
store like this within 50 miles of where
we live!
Beware of parking
restrictions - We came to eat
at the President Restaurant nearby and
shopped at the market afterwards (summer
2001). Upon returning to the car we found
a ticket for $50+ for parking over the
half-hour time limit. They were
technically correct as there was a small
sign at the end of the row. Being from
the US the concept of parking in a mall
parking lot and getting a ticket was
totally foreign. I wrote to the parking
enforcement company AND the property
owner explaining that we actually had
spent several hundred dollars while
eating and shopping there. They did not
reply and eventually turned the ticket
over to a collection firm in Spokane, WA.
After another round of letter writing and
a phone call to the Canadian parking
enforcement company the fine was reduced
to about US$20. Still, I was harassed by
the collection company that prompted
another round of letter writing and phone
calls. IT WAS ONE BIG HASSLE. We have
never shopped there since!
