| This review adds to the
excellent review already on file for Sun
Sui Wah. I have eaten at Sun Sui
Wah on at least 5 occasions spanning the
last year. Incredible food,
attentive service, and good value being
the rule without exception. Both
Dim Sum and dinner are excellent.
Dim Sum items are best characterized as
fresh and tasty, utilizing quality
ingredients in innovative preparations,
and brought to your table by friendly
people. All the standard items are
represented, as well as some newer items
(shitake shu mai the usual pork
and vegetable dumpling stuffed into a
fresh shitake mushroom cap, rather than
its usual won-ton wrapper) that must
either be recently imported ideas or
innovations of their own. Wait
staff are attentive, with used dishes
cleared frequently, fresh plates
exchanged readily, and teapots kept
fresh. The dinner menu is
extensive, with great variety, and
everything Ive ever tried has been
well executed. Hints:
Weekend Dim Sum gets very busy
quickly. The wait is worthwhile,
but if you want to beat most of the rush
(and find close parking), be there around
9:45 AM but certainly no later than
10. Weekday Dim Sum is quite slow
in the morning with limited offerings
until around lunchtime, when the familiar
frenetic pace resumes.

| Naming a restaurant as one
of the very best in a target-rich
environment of the greater Vancouver area
there must be no down side to the
selection. And we found that Sun Sui Wah
has met every expectation. The food, the
facilities and service were all
excellent. We ate a Dim Sum lunch and
later returned for dinner - something
that we have not done anywhere! The Dim Sum items
were still carted around the old fashion
way. Some of the very best Dim Sum places
have gone to the "made to
order" arrangement. We still prefer
the carts and I think that listening and
looking at the offerings are really part
of the fun of having Dim Sum.
The
quality and variety of the Dim Sum items
were excellent. My wife, having gone to
Hong Kong recently and eating at some of
the very best establishments there, said
that these were second to none. The
service at Sun Sui Wah was excellent. We
ate our fill and the lunch for 5 was $76
Canadian.
There
certainly were a lot of restaurant
choices in Richmond. We decided on
Chinese seafood. After driving around and
discussing places we returned to Sun Sui
Wah. We were not disappoinnted.
We had 7
items beginning with a seafood (scallops
& shrimp) lettuce wrap. Just the cold
and crispness of the lettuce told us the
quality of the dish. The pot of
traditional Chinese pork soup, fresh
vegetable, braised dried vegetables, salt
& peppered calamari, sauteed prawns,
and beef with ginger and scallions were
all wonderful. Our dinner came to $120
Canadian.
Our dinner
was considered as the "small
dish" class of available items.
"Banquet" and exotic items were
readily available.
