| Versailles can be VERY
overrun with tourists at any time of the
year, so where do you grab a bite of
lunch? Walk out the main gate where
the statue of Louis XIV dwells...look
about 200 yards to your left front (the
10 o'clock position if you're in the
center of a clock) and there you'll see
the Bar du Chateau.
Nothing
exceptional, but pleasant folks, good
food and reasonable prices. A
typical brasserie...open in the warm
months, dining on the second floor during
the cold months.
Good
Croque Monsieur (and Croque Madam)...good
salads...good soup...what's not to
like?
They don't
speak much English, but they're friendly
folks and it's not too hard to make your
self understood.
