| Restaurant Fournaise, Chatou (near Paris), France | P5 |
| For the fan of
Impressionist paintings, one restaurant just west of
Paris on the Seine stands out...the former Maison
Fournaise where Renoir painted "Le Dejuner des
Canotiers". It's not too expensive and the
food is excellent. Lunch for a party of five was $156 including wine. In the Impressionest Period, the Maison Fournaise was a "gang-gette"...a luncheon spot along the Seine where boating parties would have lunch before setting out for an afternoon of canoeing. Chatou can be reached on the east-west RER line going in the direction of St. Germain-en-Laye. Food: 9. Service: 8. Ambiance: 10. History: 10+ |
