| Normally, when you leave
Paris and venture into the French
countryside, you find excellent food,
friendly service and VERY low
prices. Unfortunately, La
Buissonniere is the exception to all of
this. La Buissonniere is located
on the left of the main road from Paris
to Vernon...out towards Monet's
Giverny...just a bit before you get into
town.
We arrived
near closing time for lunch, 2:30 pm and
were greeted with a rather unfriendly
demeanor which said: "We're
about ready to close, but we'll take your
money anyway."
The food
was unexceptional...the "plate du
jour" was tough steak and because
the salad bar was depleted, we elected to
just have the steak a la carte...no
matter. We were charged the full
price for the meal.
Well...there
are exceptions to everything, I
guess. Most of the time, traveling
the French countryside is a good
experience. La Buissonniere was
not.
