| Just behind Notre Dame as
one crosses over to Isle St. Louis, the
Brasserie Le Flore en L'Ilie is the first
restaurant you see. Since a major
reason to cross to Isle St. Louis is to
eat ice cream at Berthillion's, it should
come as no surprise that Le Flore en
L'Ilie's awning says: "Glaces
et Sorbets de la Maison
Berthillion". Sorry to disappoint
you folks, but Le Flore en L'Ilie is not
Berthillion. (Berthillion's is a
bit deeper on the island... on the main
street of Isle St. Louis, near where the
Rue de la Pont crosses the Seine).
However,
Le Flore en L'Ilie is a normal Parisian
Brasserie...very tiny space...very tiny
tables...over crowded due to it's
proximity to Notre Dame...but good
food. Nothing spectacular, but
certainly worth a visit...and, yes...the
ice cream and sorbets are from
Berthillion's.
