| Located south of Paris and
just a few minutes from Fontainebleu is
Barbizon...a French version of
"Carmel by the Sea"...except
there's no sea for several hundred
miles. Barbizon is a little town
which features French art and
artists...and at least one excellent
restaurant: Restaurant
L'Angelus. A little English is spoken,
but don't let that keep you from dining
there. The food is excellent, the
service is excellent and the prices
aren't too high.
I had
salmon fumé. Those in my party had
steak with Bernaise Sauce, and salmon
with hollandaise. Add three glasses of
wine, some mineral water and a couple of
desserts and $90 for the four of us
wasn't bad at all.
